You can’t scroll the internet without seeing AI images. It’s just become part of the “norm” of our world in 2026. And if you’ve made it in the world of AI for this long without getting duped, you’re one of the lucky ones.

AI is a helpful tool, no doubt. But is it always the best way?

At Pixie we highlight real women with real bodies, because we know real women use our products. 

Without women, Pixie doesn’t exist, so creating photoshoots, inviting women to showcase their beauty, and highlighting real humans is one small way we can honor authenticity and build trust as a brand. 

Authentic Representation Matters

For years, advertising relied heavily on overly polished images that didn’t reflect how most women actually looked or lived.

Today, audiences (and especially women!) are asking for something different: they want representation that feels real & authentic.

Photography featuring everyday women, diverse bodies, natural skin, and genuine moments resonates far more deeply than perfectly generated images.

This shift is closely tied to movements like the Body Positivity Movement, which encourages brands and creators to embrace authenticity rather than unrealistic beauty standards.

AI Imagery Causes Skepticism 

You probably find yourself asking “Is this real?” at least once a day on the internet. AI imagery is only getting more believable, but when it comes to purchasing online, you might think:

• Is this actually what the product looks like?
• Will this product work on a real body?
• Is this marketing honest?
• Is this an actual photo of the product, or was it AI generated?

CNN recently published an article titled “Your favorite model? Thanks to AI, they might not be real” where the author discussed the ethics behind using AI models for branding shoots & it seems the jury is still out on whether or not using AI models is worth it to the consumer.

Ultimately though, it is not worth it to Pixie.

When you scroll social media or scan our website, we know you want to see real bodies over photoshopped perfection or AI models (those actually do exist!)

Imperfections, different sizes, shapes, bodies, ages, and colors are all part of being human & that’s something Pixie is passionate about highlighting.

Without real women, Pixie doesn’t exist.

And a “perfect” AI generated model has none of those things.
